Evan Lee is a formally trained painter and photographer who is best known for his unconventional approach to making lens-based images. Referred to as a member of the “post-photography” generation, Lee considers the limits and possibilities of photography through experimentation and adaptability. Lee’s economical `approach leads to new and unexpected connections as he recognizes the extraordinary within the multitude of mundane objects that occupy our lives. This online platform is an extension of the exhibition Forged that focuses on Evan Lee’s critically engaged practice concerning systems of value that code human experience. Explore images of production ephemera, past works, and writing related to themes that are integral to Lee’s practice.
